Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend we went to Dallas so that Mike could go with his cousin, Mark, to the OU/BYU football game at the new Texas Stadium. We took the opportunity to spend time with much of our family. Friday night we went to Uncle David's (i.e. Lake Highlands High School) football game. The girls are loving going to football games mostly to eat popcorn, watch the dancers and attempt to be brave enough to get close to the mascots.
Uncle David's biggest fans.
Papa joined us for the game.
We stayed at my brother's house so Saturday we spent the morning in our pjs hanging out with Daddy, Nana and Uncle Drew.Carter is on the move...he is not officially crawling but he can get himself wherever he wants to go by scooting. The girls have tried to demonstrate how to get on all fours but he hasn't quite figured it out yet.
Nana brought these strollers over from her house. They have been such a hit with the girls that she made sure she had 3 of them so each one got there own.
OUCH...don't hurt Uncle Drew!
Thanks Uncle Drew for capturing this precious moment.
We wanted to get out of the house so we took the kids to I HEART YOGURT. At this place you can make your own bowl of yogurt with as many toppings as you want...you just pay by the ounce but watch out because it adds up quickly!Taking a break after all that yogurt.
Aubrey was having a harder time sitting still. Nice moves Aubs!I think we wore Lily and Uncle Drew out.
My brother is an amazing uncle. He specially got them bubbles for their bath and stocked his fridge with all their favorites for the weekend. He doesn't even mind helping with potty training twins.
On Sunday we met Uncle David, Aunt Ashley and Anna at the farm for a visit with Mema and Papa.
The horses provide plenty of entertainment for the Hall children.

Out to lunch at Scotty P's for a delicious hamburger.

First Day of School

All of the kids were very excited to get to school this year. Aubrey is in preschool now so she was looking forward to getting to do all the things they don't do in MDO like go the library, go to chapel and go on field trips. Her teacher is new to the school this year but is an experienced preschool teacher so we were also looking forward to getting to know her.
Lily has the teachers that Aubrey had last year. They also work in the nursery on Sundays so they know our family well and we love them.
One of Emery's teachers has the exact same color hair as her!
Before we left for school...
...in the parking lot at school.
I was very happy that each one of them went into their classroom with no tears.
At the end of the day, Emery's teachers said she was an expert with the MDO routine.
Aubrey likes to help get her sisters to their classrooms before she goes to hers. What a sweet big sis!
These are the days that Carter and I are able to enjoy some time together and get a lot of errands done in a much shorter time.

1 1/2 hours - Time it takes to go to the grocery store with 4 kids

30 minutes - Time it takes to go to the store with a 9 month old

Birthday Party Weekend

We had 3 different birthday parties to go to this weekend. Each were with different groups of friends and each child is very important to us so we were glad to help them celebrate their special days.
The first party was Saturday morning at Chuck E. Cheese for Joe Meloy who was turning 2.
The girls are getting ready to take on some games with their tokens.
I have to admit that Mommy and Daddy get a little competitive when we go to these places. We want to win those tickets. The girls just care about pressing all the buttons. The next party was Saturday afternoon at Noah's Ark for Justin Michaelis who was turning 3. Daddy and Carter stayed home for this one so we got to enjoy some girl time.
The birthday boy was having a blast!
Emery is definitely the most adventurous Hall child right now. She will climb, slide, bounce or jump off just about anything.
Capturing a moment of observation.
The whole group of kids (with a few parents for crowd control.)
The Michaelis family.
The final party of the weekend was Sunday afternoon at Ty's grandparents house for his 1st birthday. Aubrey and Meyer enjoying a swim.
Eating dinner.
The guys with their babies.
The Davis, Heuring, Farr, Scalise and Hall kiddos.
Ty enjoying his first birthday cake.
Emery, Shelby and Lily would not get up until they finished all of that cake and ice cream.
Emery and Aubrey loved these little scooters.
Happy Birthday to all of our special friends!
