Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

One of the benefits of Mike working on the Rodeo Express committee for the Houston Rodeo is that we have free passes. We took the kids on the last Saturday of the rodeo (it was also the last Saturday of Spring Break!) We also had the opportunity to see where Daddy spends a couple shifts a week during the month of March by parking in 'his' lot and riding the bus. We got there around 11:00 so we decided to have lunch first.and We enjoyed some bbq and nachos. Not a super healthy lunch but very delicious!
Then we headed inside to "Kid Kountry" where they have all kinds of adorable baby animals and fun things to learn about.
These piglets were only a day or two old.

Carter wanted to make sure he got the closest view possible of those precious pigs.
Checking out bunnies of all different shapes, sizes and colors.

Look at the chick about to hatch out of its egg! Then we ventured outside to ride some rides. Emery chose to do the obstacle course first.Lily and Carter were not at all interested in the rides so Emery went on this one with Aubrey.
We cannot go to the fair without getting a funnel cake...and some fried oreos. YUMMY!Then we went to the rodeo. Our goal was to watch the rodeo and then maybe listen to a few songs until we realized that it was finals night. This meant that after they competed all the events, they went back and competed the top five from each event again. So....we didn't hear any of the music but......they didn't seem to mind because this is the picture we got of them after 8 hours of rodeo fun. By their smiles, I think a good time was had by all!
