Playing at the Park

We spend LOTS of time at various parks around our area. We are either meeting our running group friends or playing while Aubrey is at gymnastics 2 hours twice a week. This particular day we had gone to get our flu shots and decided to enjoy the rest of the beautiful afternoon at Meyer Park.
First we went to feed the ducks but these ducks must be really well fed because they weren't very interested in eating our bread or they had a hard time getting to the bread when Carter was only throwing it about an inch in front of him :-)

Then the nutria started appearing...nutria are water rats with two huge front teeth...they are not too cute and definitely not the kids's favorite as you can see by Emery's face.

Poor Lily had fallen while taking a walk at Nana's the weekend before but she was still willing to pose for pictures. According to her, this is when she had a "broken head."This is where Aubrey sat the entire time we were down by the water. Although she likes the ducks and turtles we see in the water, she is extremely afraid of the nutria.
So we went to feed the birds with the rest of our bread. This not only pleased all the kids but the birds were happy too!
The rest of the time they enjoyed playing on the various playground equipment. These are simple but wonderful moments that I cherish having with my children.
